Wakayama Castle Town Sightseeing Shared Taxi Service Has Started

Yutaka Kotsu has started a new AI ride-sharing service, the “Wakayama Castle Town Sightseeing Shared Taxi.”
With around 50 pick-up and drop-off points across Wakayama City, the service makes it easy to enjoy sightseeing, food-hopping, and everyday outings.
The fare is 500 JPY per ride (tax included) or 1,500 JPY for an unlimited one-day pass (tax included).
Service Overview
- Operation period: Friday, October 3 – Sunday, November 30, 2025
- Operating days: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only
- Operating hours: 9:00–17:00
- Pick-up / drop-off points: Around 50 locations within Wakayama City
(main sightseeing spots, hotels, and commercial areas) - Fare: 500 JPY per ride (tax included) / 1,500 JPY for an unlimited one-day pass (tax included)
- System: AI ride-sharing dispatch (reservation and payment via app)
- Payment methods: In-app credit card payment and PayPay in the taxi (planned)
How to Use – Simple 3 Steps
- Open the app and select your boarding and drop-off points (designated pick-up / drop-off points).
- Go to the meeting point and board the taxi following the instructions in the app.
(You may share the ride with other passengers going in the same direction.) - After getting off, complete your payment in the app
(PayPay payment in the vehicle is also planned).
Kansai Airport Shared-Ride Service (Oct. 24 – Nov. 30)
- Route: Within Wakayama City ⇔ Kansai International Airport
- Fare: 1,500 JPY per ride per person (tax included)
Additional charge of 1,000 JPY per piece of luggage - System: AI ride-sharing dispatch (reservation and payment via app)
